Classic fantasy is where it all began for many of us, with ancient kingdoms, enchanted forests, legendary swords, dark lords and quests that somehow always seem to involve saving the world. It is the stuff of maps drawn in the front of books, mysterious wizards, unlikely heroes and creatures that have lived in our imaginations for generations. There is something wonderfully familiar about it, even when the story itself is completely new. Give me a well-told tale of magic, adventure, friendship and good versus evil, and I am more than happy to settle in for the journey.
