Rincewind is the Discworld’s most reluctant hero, which is fortunate because heroism is generally the sort of thing that involves getting hit by something large. A wizard of remarkably limited ability but impressive survival instincts, Rincewind has a talent for being exactly where trouble is about to happen, usually shortly before running away from it. His adventures take him from the farthest corners of the Disc to places no sensible person would willingly visit, accompanied by heroes, villains, luggage and, occasionally, actual wizards. The Rincewind books are fast, funny, gloriously chaotic adventures where cowardice, luck and common sense frequently collide.
